Great hotel experience in Cologne! Very friendly staff, clean and incredibly spacious room by European standards especially. Breakfast was tasty, and luggage storage was offered upon checkout. Location was top notch, minutes walk from great shopping, landmarks, markets and places to grab quality Kolsch.

Yggotel Pirol was a decent hotel but did not particularly impress us. Room was extremely small and lacked basic amenities such as tissues, minifridge, chair that had a back (only had a stool), lotion, handsoap, etc. There was also zero ventilation in our room, even when we tried to open the windows all the way. With no air conditioning and no ventilation, a fan or some sort of airflow would have been appreciated. However, the location was excellent (very close to Old Köln), and the breakfast was good. The decor theme was also nice.

(Translated by Google) The hotel has been newly renovated, so the rooms are beautifully modern and clean! They are relatively small, but you can move around in them without much problem. The beds are comfortable and also clean. The very old but functioning elevator retains the charm of the previous hotel. The breakfast is rich and everything is represented, from rolls, bread and toast, to scrambled eggs and poffertjes, to muesli, yoghurt and fruit. The hotel staff is very friendly and always helpful. The location is also great. All you have to do is walk out the door and you're right in the city center. The bus and train connections can also be reached in a few minutes on foot. The only drawback:There is a ventilation system with two ventilation openings in the bathroom. The air is pulled out of the bathroom at the top of the ceiling and air is blown in at the bottom, right next to the toilet.Firstly, this system is relatively loud, which means that even when the bathroom door is closed you can hear the monotonous noise in the background, and secondly, the air that is blown into the bathroom smells a bit unpleasant. Unfortunately, as long as the smell of breakfast or coffee doesn't rise from below, the bathroom always smells a bit musty. Unfortunately, you can't turn off the ventilation as you usually do by turning off the light. In addition, the position of the ventilation shaft directly at the height of the toilet seat is not always very pleasant... :DIf the bathroom door is closed, which has to stay closed anyway because the ventilation is a little too loud, you can at least keep the smell out of the bedroom.Still a nice hotel! We would definitely come back again, but then with a few scented sticks ;)(Original)Das Hotel ist frisch renoviert, dementsprechend sind die Zimmer schön modern eingerichtet und sauber!

The elevator is super loud and the whole building shakes when it is used especially if you are staying in the top floors. This made it a bit challenging to sleep.Breakfast was excellent and it was very close to all the major attractions.

(Translated by Google) Very good hotel in a best location, everything new and very clean. Breakfast buffet is more than sufficient... anyone who says otherwise should look at what they have on the table at home every day. Person very friendly and helpful. I can and would recommend it to everyone and we would come back ourselves. Greetings from Upper Bavaria(Original)Sehr gutes Hotel in bester Lage, alles neu und sehr sauber. (Translated by Google) Great location, one point deducted from the room because there are no hooks to hang it up.Unfortunately we weren't impressed with breakfast at all, we were here for 3 nights during which time the powder for the cocoa wasn't refilled once, no fruit, no croissants, juice wasn't refrigerated.(Original)Super Tolle Lage, einen Punkt Abzug beim Zimmer weil es keinerlei Haken zum aufhängen gibt.

(Translated by Google) The hotel is in the old town great location. The furnishings are modern and lovingly selected. The breakfast selection is okay. Unfortunately our room was small and not ventilated at all. Unfortunately, the fan in the room only distributed warm air. The cleaning of the room could have been more thorough. We found dirt/dust in some corners.(Original)Das Hotel befindet sich in der Altstadt super Lage.

Overall, I do not recommend this hotel for longer than a single night stay. There are better options available in similar locations and at similar price points.Negatives:- Very small rooms; the rooms are not suitable for a couple.- Thin walls; the hotel is very noisy. You can hear other guests, building systems, and the street outside with ease.- The WiFi speed and strength are both incredibly poor. The WiFi was regularly unusable from the room (it dropped out several times writing this review).- The mobile reception is similarly inconsistent from the rooms, and hence this cannot be used as a back up when the WiFi is not working.- The website states that they have a Smart TV. They do not have a Smart TV, it is a regular flatscreen. I don't know if this is intentionally misleading.- There is no mini-fridge, no desk, and very limited storage space.- The bathroom is comically small. I am 187cm and couldn't fit on the toilet. The single basin had very little room for toiletries.- EDIT: There is a door hanger that offers a free drink voucher at the bar if you choose not to have your room cleaned. I did not receive any vouchers despite hanging this. Upon asking the front desk, I was told that they have no idea what I am talking about, and the hotel doesn't have a bar. Every room has these door hangers, it is on the opposite side to the Do Not Disturb hanger - I am uncertain how the hotel is unfamiliar with this.Positives:- The decor and furnishings are well done. The bed and associated covers and pillows are very comfortable.- The breakfast is excellent; meats, cheese, bread, spreads, coffee, waffles, yoghurt, juice, eggs, and sausages. The only thing missing is pastries.

(Translated by Google) A cozy hotel in the Högge style. The location right on the pedestrian zone is great. Less than a five minute walk to the cathedral. The breakfast is simple but absolutely fine.No dedicated parking spaces but plenty of parking garages nearby. The staff is friendly and helpful.Absolutely recommended for a Cologne city trip(Original)Ein gemütliches Hotel im Högge Stil. (Translated by Google) Overall, a good hotel for a city trip to Cologne. It is very centrally located, which is both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, the path to the Rhine and the cathedral is very short, and on the other hand, due to the location in a busy pedestrian zone, it is very loud throughout. There is also currently a large construction site right next to the hotel, so you will be woken up by the jackhammer at half past seven in the morning. This isn't a problem when the window is closed, but at 30 degrees it's not recommended to sleep with the window closed. Luckily we had a slightly larger room with two windows, so we could ventilate well with the help of the fan. Overall, the room met our expectations. The bathroom was quite small, but sufficient. The cleanliness was okay. The breakfast is comparatively cheap, but also quite simple. The highlight is definitely the waffle iron, with which you can make your own waffles. What remains to be mentioned is that the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful at all times.(Original)Insgesamt ein gutes Hotel für einen Städtetrip nach Köln.

Very nice place to stay in the central of Cologne. Walking distance from all major tourist atttractionsd in the city. They have very friendly staff, and the rooms, although small, are clean and well looked after. Perfect place to stay if you want to visit the city as a couple. Comfortable beds, and great breakfast as well, for a affordable price. I would reccomend them too anyone coming to Cologne. Siham at the reception, welcomed us, and made us feel very welcome.

(Translated by Google) Very centrally located on the side of the pedestrian zone, but still really quiet. The rooms are renovated and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was simple, but there was something for everyone. The cappuccino from the machine was delicious. We would book here again 👍😎(Original)Sehr zentral seitlich in der Fußgängerzone, dennoch wirklich ruhig.

(Translated by Google) The room was much too small, you opened the door and basically fell straight into bed. The fact that the room didn't have air conditioning wasn't exactly great at the beginning of August, but it wouldn't have been so bad if the bathroom had a ventilation - but it didn't and so the haze still hung in the room after showering. The thick blankets did the rest.Worst of all, what little soil there was was not only sticky but also extremely dirty. That doesn't work at all! We brought this to the attention of the hotel staff the next day, but they weren't really interested. Good thing we only booked one night in the hotel! To be fair: The breakfast buffet was really plentiful, there was enough of everything and you could fortify yourself well for a day in Cologne.(Original)Das Zimmer viel zu klein, man öffnete die Tür und fiel quasi direkt ins Bett.

There is no AC in this hotel. The hotel is in a good area but it's loud at night. Walking distance to everything.
