just a note with the last video with the attic stairs, i know it sounds like something is climbing down the stairs, but if you count the rungs it doesnt really add up. i think that squeaky rattle noise we hear is actually something more like the hard end of the pullcord hitting the steps repeatedly as it dangles, or the sound of the ladder settling--those rickety ladders have a lot of connecting pieces and when theyre unfolded and dangling loose, even if it looks like its holding still, the connecting joints within the metal might be settling which explains the rhythmic clicking/creaking as opposed to a ghost descending the ladder.
i agree this man is genuinely scared and its not a hoax, but i am concerned to hear he is seeing and hearing things around his shoulder/close to his head, as that could be psychosis/hallucination, so i am a little worried for his mental health, especially with the other occurrences validating a potential loss of grip with reality. i think its dangerous when youre playing with paranormal experiences, especially those that are so severely distressing the individial experiencing them, and segmentation of perception of reality. id definitely encourage him to look into this from an internal viewpoint and perhaps investigate his mental health and make sure this is not a phenomenon coming from within him.
im also curious as to how old his home is. i understand those pull ladders can be very stiff in many cases, but that doesnt mean its unheard of for them to open by themselves. obviously any person would be terrified by this happening, i feel scared when a door i thought was open is now closed etcetera, we want to be in control of our own homes but ultimately they are not totally static things, homes are comprised of many constantly interlocking and interacting components, as manipulatable by time or the environment or coincidence as anything, and sometimes things move and fall and open on their own because of a complex list of factors that we cannot observe after the fact. if you research attic doors opening on their own, you will find tons of explanation for reasons why this can happen. i know he has experienced other phenomena, but i am just pointing out that this single instance, while creepy, is not very unique, nor unexplainable.
i think this man is absolutely genuine in his fear, but i also think perhaps this is a situation of several natural phenomenon in succession interacting with his fear and the resulting paranoia perhaps making him experience it as more aggravated phenomena, and then viewers who witness his pain and empathize with him are more inclined to believe it as they are already empathizing with him, like how mass hysterias operate. as an example, i feel like ordinarily you would offer the potential that sometimes those ladders just open on their own--because they do--but instead you further validated it as unlikely to happen on its own and as potentially paranormal because you were swayed by your empathy for his emotions, and this is happening en masse on his account. if he is paranoid and losing touch with reality in some areas, all of this could only be aggravating his paranoia more, which maybe he has recognized and might play into why he privated, to work on his emotions processing what is happening to him.
i am a bit of a more straight edge skeptic. i empathize with people that have experienced paranormal incidents and i believe they are very often real in their minds, and i think whatever solution someone wishes to pursue that would comfort them, they should be supported in that pursuit, and if something like a cleanse would ease him i believe in the validity of it and see no purpose in debunking his pursuit of comfort. i also believe that there is always a natural, non-paranormal explanation for these sorts of phenomenon, even if they cant be percieved after the fact. reality around us is not static, every individual item has its place to be manipulated by temperature, gravity, subtle tremors, unknown misplacement, faulty assembly, or just time alone. we are never in control of every component of our home, but its easy to be afraid of these things we are not in control of, especially if things are happening sequentially, or paranoia or psychosis are aggravating your experience of these events. when a home is branded as "unsafe" in our minds, we experience more within it. i felt very unsafe in my parents home and would experience hallucinations of people walking around the home that werent there, id be terrified of people over my shoulder, etc because i had branded it as unsafe and my mind was on such high alert it was making things up. when i moved to college, i stopped experiencing these things. paranormal incidents, even genuine ones, can often be a mix of psychological impact + the constant effect of the lack of control we have over the inanimate objects in our own home.
i just think if there were poltergeists and spirits and genuine paranormal concepts in our reality, there would be much more evidence than a laundry list of hoaxes and the occasional genuinely terrorized, sweet old man to be pointed at as an indicator of it being real.
i feel for him and i hope he finds peace with his home and relief from his terror. i would not dream of harassing any of the people in your videos, but i really respect you going out of your way to always protect the people you feature and understanding that responsibility you hold as a creator with a perceptive community.
wonderful video as always!
